Monticiano is a small, very natural village in the hills about 20 kilometers southeast of Siena. What makes the thermal bath so special is that, in addition to the small and admittedly not particularly attractive building complex of the paid thermal bath (from 11 euros upwards), it also offers a natural thermal pool nearby, which can be used free of charge (just follow the signs to Petriolo Terme) .

The basin consists of several levels in which the water cools down constantly with decreasing height up to the course of the river of over 40 degrees Celsius. So everyone can find their "individual" water temperature. The water contains a lot of sulfur, but is said to be one of the best thermal waters that Tuscany has to offer. Note that there is no swimming pool infrastructure here and that it could be busy during the holiday season.
